This is a structured, 8-week premarital intensive consisting of eight weekly sessions built on the Prepare-Enrich curriculum, designed for couples who want real preparation, not just a box to check. Rather than open-ended sessions, we work through a set arc covering the conversations that matter most before you say “I do,” including topics couples often don’t think to raise until they’re already married.

Over the course of 8 weekly sessions, we move from understanding how you each communicate and handle conflict, to unpacking family and cultural expectations, to working through finances, roles, and intimacy, and culminating in a shared foundation you both helped build.
The Premarital Intensive is a structured 8-week program that includes eight weekly sessions for $800.00, built on the Prepare-Enrich curriculum, reflecting the structured preparation this format provides and a package rate for committing to the full curriculum upfront.
Please note that in the state of Texas, upon completion of an approved 8-session premarital counseling course, you will receive a $60 discount toward your marriage license fee. You will also be eligible to have the 3-day waiting period waived. WPIT is approved to provide a certificate of completion for couples who attend all 8 sessions.

Is this the same as couples therapy?
No, the Premarital Intensive is a structured, curriculum-based program built specifically for couples preparing for marriage. I don’t offer general couples therapy; this is the one couples-facing service I provide.
Do we have to be engaged to start?
No, you don’t need to be formally engaged. This intensive works well for couples who are seriously planning toward marriage, even before a date or ring is official.
Can we do this over telehealth?
Yes, sessions are available in-person in Dallas or via telehealth across Texas.
Can we split the sessions or pay per session instead of the full package?
The Premarital Intensive is offered as a complete 8-week package, paid in full upfront.
How do we get the marriage license discount and waived waiting period?
Once you complete all 8 sessions, WPIT will provide a certificate of completion, which qualifies Texas couples for a $60 discount on their marriage licensed and a waived 3-day waiting period.
What if we need to reschedule a session?
I understand that life happens! Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule your session. With appropriate notice, we’ll find another available time that works for you.
For the 8-week intensive, sessions cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice, as well as no-shows, will be considered used and cannot be rescheduled or refunded. Medical emergencies or unavoidable circumstances will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Do you provide LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy for premarital intensives?
Yes, I offer LGBTQIA+ affirming premarital intensives, with care that respects each partner's identity, relationship structure, and cultural background.
How soon should we start before the wedding?
Since the intensive runs weekly over 8 sessions, plan for at least 2–3 months before your wedding date. Many couples start 4–6 months out, which allows room for the occasional rescheduled session without feeling rushed and gives you time to apply for your marriage license with the completion certificate in hand, since the Texas discount and waived waiting period only apply if you complete the course before applying.
