Frequently asked questions

Get Started Today with Welcome Path Integrative Therapy

  • I provide individual therapy for teens and young adults along with family therapy.

However, there are certain services I do not provide, including:

    • Crisis services

    • Psychiatric medication management or prescriptions

    • Psychological assessments

    • Intensive inpatient care

    • Court-mandated counseling

    • Letters for ESA or disability

If you need support in any of these areas, I am happy to provide referrals to qualified providers who specialize in them.

  • We are exclusively a virtual practice. Our virtual sessions are held in our HIPAA-compliant Telehealth platform.

    • Intake sessions: 60 minutes

    • Follow-up sessions: 50 minutes

    • Typically, sessions are scheduled weekly, but the frequency can be adjusted based on your needs and goals.

  • Sessions provide a safe and supportive space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and patterns. We work together to develop strategies, practice communication skills, and build coping tools tailored to your unique needs. For teen sessions, a parent or guardian joins the last 10 minutes for a brief check-in.

  • The length of therapy varies depending on your goals and the nature of the challenges you’re addressing. Some clients may notice progress in a few months, while others may continue for longer to address deeper or ongoing concerns.

  • Please let me know as soon as possible if you are running late or need to cancel. I require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed sessions without appropriate notice will incur a $135 fee. Medical emergencies or unavoidable circumstances will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

  • Yes, debit or credit card information is required to schedule sessions. This helps secure your appointment and is used only for billing session fees, late cancellations, or missed sessions.

  • An LMFT-Associate is a licensed marriage and family therapist who has completed the required education, supervision, and clinical experience, and is working under post-degree supervision to obtain full licensure.

I am currently under supervision of Dr. Emily Schupmann, LMFT-S and Dr. Ryan Lloyd, LMFT-S.

  • The easiest way to get started is by filling out the inquiry form on my website. Once I receive it, I’ll reach out to schedule a free 15-minute consultation.

If you prefer, you can also schedule that consult directly through my Calendly link or reach out by email or phone. The consultation is a chance to ask questions, share what’s been going on, and get a feel for whether we’re a good fit.

  • If you or a loved one are in crisis or feel unsafe, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. For mental health support in the U.S., you can also call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Telehealth sessions are not appropriate for active crises.

  • All sessions are confidential. Information is only shared with your consent or as required by law, which ensures a safe space where you can be open and honest during therapy.

Per Texas ethical guidelines for therapists, there are a few exceptions to confidentiality, including:

    • A court subpoena of records

    • If a client is deemed an immediate harm to themselves or others

    • If the counselor becomes aware of child abuse, elder abuse, or abuse of a person with disabilities (mandated reporting)

  • For teen clients, a parent or guardian joins the last 10 minutes of each session for a brief check-in. This allows parents to stay informed while still giving teens privacy for the majority of the session.

Before beginning therapy, I also ask that you provide any custody agreements, divorce decrees, or other relevant legal documents. This helps me understand which parent or guardian is authorized to consent to treatment and ensures that therapy is conducted appropriately within legal guidelines.

  • We accept debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and HSA/FSA cards) as well as checks. Checks should be made payable to Welcome Path Integrative Therapy, PLLC and presented at the time of service. Debit and credit cards are kept on file for billing purposes, and payment is due at the time of your session.

We understand that therapy is an important investment in your well-being. Sliding scale fees or payment plans may be available. Please contact us to discuss options.

While we do not bill insurance directly, we can provide superbills for clients who wish to submit claims for potential reimbursement from their insurance provider.

Before booking, we recommend calling the number on the back of your insurance card to confirm your out-of-network therapy benefits, learn how to submit a claim, and see what may be covered. This helps you have a clear idea of what to expect.

  • No special preparation is needed. You can think about your goals, challenges, or questions, and we’ll guide the session together. For teen clients, parents can also prepare questions or updates for the brief check-in at the end.

Important: For intake sessions, all paperwork—including the Consent to Treat and acknowledgements of our Privacy and Practice Policies—must be completed at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. Failure to submit these forms on time will require rescheduling your initial session. Completing the paperwork in advance helps ensure your first session runs smoothly and allows us to focus on your needs from the start.
